How payments work

inkling is free to use every day, and there is a paid tier for people who use it a lot. This page is the whole of it.
What runs out
Two things, and they behave differently.
- Ink is replies. Every time you pause after writing and the page answers you, that is one reply. The free page has a set number each day, and they come back the next morning — you never have to do anything.
- Paper is pages. The free page keeps a few, and those do not come back, because nothing is taken away: the pages you filled stay exactly where they are, and stay readable and searchable forever. It is only new ones that stop.
What the paid tier gives you
More than five times the replies per day, and as much paper as you like. It is a large number rather than an unlimited one, because there is a real limit and we would rather say so than have you find it having been told otherwise. It is far more than a normal day of writing.
What it costs
$9.99 a month, or $79.99 a year — a year works out at four months on the house. Both renew on their own until you stop them. Prices are set per country by Apple; your App Store shows the exact amount before you confirm.
How to cancel
On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → inkling → Cancel Subscription. You keep what you paid for until the end of the period you have already paid, and nothing is charged after that. You do not have to ask us, and there is nothing in the app you need to do first.
Everything you have written stays yours and stays on your phone either way.
Who takes the money
Apple does. Purchases go through the App Store, and we never see your card, your address, or your Apple ID. What reaches us is a receipt Apple signed, which tells our server that the device in your hand is allowed the larger allowance. There is no account, and we still have no way to know who you are.
Refunds
Refunds are Apple's to give — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds you, our server hears about it and the page goes back to the free tier on its own.
Restoring a purchase
A new phone, or the app deleted and installed again, restores itself the first time you open it, as long as you are signed in to the same Apple ID.
